Floresta estrutura biofísica - o arranjo e a frequência das folhas e caules - emerge de crescimento, mortalidade e enchimento espaço dinâmica, e também podem influenciar essa dinâmica, estruturando ambientes de luz. Para investigar essa interação, desenvolvemos modelos que poderiam usar sensoriamento remoto LiDAR para vincular os perfis de área foliar com distribuições de tamanho de árvore, comparando modelos que não fizeram (teoria de escala metabólica) e fez permitir que a luz para influenciar esta ligação. Descobrimos que um link luz ambiente-a-estrutura era necessária para simular com precisão distribuições de tamanho de árvores e estrutura do dossel em duas contrastantes florestas amazônicas. O particionamento de perfis de área foliar em componentes de classe de tamanho, descobrimos que as taxas demográficas foram relacionadas à variação da absorção de luz, com mortalidade crescente em relação ao crescimento da luz mais elevada, de acordo com um comentário sobre o ambiente de luz para distribuições de tamanho. Combinando LiDAR com modelos que ligam a estrutura da floresta e demografia oferece uma abordagem de alto rendimento para avançar teoria e investigar a mudança floresta tropical em matéria de clima. |
